01. Persistent Chronic Pain Massage

Your practitioner will take a detailed history of your pain and/ or injury before proceeding with treatment. As well as helping to restore muscles and soft tissues to normal function, massage and other advanced techniques can help increase your range of motion, so you can gradually start to do the things you used to be able to do.
When we experience pain, the stress hormone, cortisol can increase. This can make us feel tense and contribute to the pain we experience. Massage has been proven to reduce cortisol in the body and increase the ‘happy hormones’, endorphins, dopamine and serotonin. These have a calming effect on the body and act as natural pain killers, adding to the overall benefits of your treatment. Finally, by encouraging sleep, massage can increase the availability of growth hormones, which promote cell division and are involved in tissue repair, regeneration, and healing.
