Here’s a selection of (mostly) local running events. There’s no real system, just the ones that are fairly local to Gloucestershire, are still taking entries and look interesting. Distances range from 5-100k (in my dreams but I know some of you are brave enough!). I’ve got my eye on the cattle country 5/10k, the Tewkesbury Half Marathon (my home town!) and The Nightmare 10. I’ll probably throw in the Winston’s Wish Boxing Day Challenge so I can don my Santa hat, run off the turkey and contribute a little to a great cause.
Ready? Let’s go!
Let’s Start with 5k!
Parkrun – 9am every Saturday! open to all.
Some of our local ones are at The Vineyards, Tewkesbury (you can finish with a quick work-out in the outdoor gym if you’re keen!), Pittville Park in Cheltenham and two in Gloucester – Kingsway and Gloucester Park.

Endurance Life Coastal Trail Series – 1st Feb 2020 – Beesands, South Devon
“This is where the Coastal Trail Series was born – the South Devon stage has become a cult classic. The course is contained within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is simultaneously picturesque and punishing. With its blend of jagged rocks interspersed with idyllic sandy coves, this coastline is jaw-droppingly beautiful and hugely inspiring. The South Devon 10k, half, full and ultra-marathon events sell out every year, and you’ll soon see why as you weave your way around the technical coastline, before heading inland to tackle a few of the infamous Devon hills!”
